We want healthy, fit children!!!!
Our goal is EAT SMART; PLAY HARD. Together, we have children with the skills to choose good, balanced meals and snacks and to get plenty of wholesome activity.
No single food provides all the nutrients you need to stay healthy, so it's best to eat a variety of different foods each day. Use the MyPlate guide to help you fill your plate, or tray!
Better health is an individual responsibility and an important national goal. When it comes to your health, even small steps can make a big difference. When America and Americans are healthier, our whole society benefits. If you're interested in improving America, you can do so by taking care of your own body. Take a small step for America by exercising on a daily basis.
Milk is nutrient-dense and an important part of our children's' diet. Unfortunately, America's low calcium intake is a major public health problem. The majority of Americans, including children, do not meet daily calcium requirements. Consider this statistic:
Seven out of ten preteen girls and six out of ten preteen boys (ages 6 to 11) do not meet their calcium needs.
Nearly nine out of ten teenage girls and seven out of ten teenage boys (ages 12-19) do not meet daily calcium recommendations.
A well-balanced diet including 3-a-day of dairy can make a difference.
Kids do better in school and are more alert when they eat breakfast.
It lets kids be more creative and perform better with increased attention span and memory.
Kids feel good and complain less of headaches and stomachaches from being hungry.
Kids who eat breakfast miss fewer days and are late less often.
It improves kids' behavior and attitude.
Breakfast provides nutrients kids need to grow and develop.
We have a school breakfast program, with menus supplied each month. Check it out and see what we are serving.
Once a week we have a hidden prize tray. Lucky winner gets to choose a prize from a basket of goodies.
We have drawings for gifts on select holidays.
Birthdays for the month! Students receive a gift while everyone sings.
Ham and Turkey Dinner/Auction in November.
Grandparent's Day is the Thursday before St Patrick's Day.
Our CSO is quite active in our school activities. Through their many money-raising projects, they supply many "extras" we otherwise would not have for our students. We applaud their hard work and support!
